Seville, November 24th 2016. The Sevilla-based scaleup AOIFES has been awarded first place in the Digital Infrastructure category of the EIT Digital Challenge. The EIT Digital Challenge aims to identify the next wave of Europe’s top scaleups -fast growing startups who are ready to scale-up their operations- to help them grow internationally and raise funding.
AOIFES wowed the judges at the finals competition held at the Internetdagarna Conference in Stockholm, Sweden, with their Cognitive Hotspot™ Technology (CHT) that enhances the spectral efficiency of WiFi systems and increases its performance, while reducing interference levels and power consumption. The company will receive access to EIT Digital’s pan-European innovation network and the chance to benefit from the business growth support provided by the EIT Digital Accelerator and additionally €50,000 in cash.
AOIFES has been selected to have his own stand in the pavilion of Spain at next Mobile World Congress. Next week Sevilla will celebrate the “Iberoamérica Emprende” fair, the first Iberoamerican Congress on Entrepreneurship called “Entrepeneurship in the digital era”. This congress is organized by “Cámara de Comercio de Sevilla” and powered by FEDER.

The third edition of CEPYME awards is organized by “Confederación Española de la Pequeña y Mediana Empresa (CEPYME)” and “Federación Española de Autónomos (CEAT)” with the objective of recognising the figure of the small and medium businesses and freelancers and their contribution to economical and social progress and the creation of employment.
In the meeting celebrated on October 24th, under the presidence of CEPYME president, Antonio Garamendi, the jury members evaluated the finalists and voted among them the winner of each category, whose name will be known during the awards ceremony next November 29th, that will have the honor presidency of His Majesty the Kings.
One of the most important improvements in inflight connectivity has been developed by VT Miltope, specifically, the router called nMAP2 that improves the aircraft Wi-Fi system and increases the connectivity performance by using Cognitive Hotspot Technology, CHT.
Streaming video and content loading are two of the most demanding connectivity applications, and both of them involve high data requirements. A significant wireless challenge within the airplane cabin is RF congestion in a crowded wireless environment, with hundreds of client devices competing for connectivity to the network.
CHT optimizes network performance in highly congested wireless environments, making a WAP smart by sharing information gathered about the wireless environment and making jointly intelligent decisions. The objective of Alas awards is to recognize the merits of Andalusian companies and entities with activity abroad and encourage the whole productive Andalusian companies to start its internationalization. This edition, the Alas awards have five categories: “Initiation to Export”, “Exporter Company”, “Foreign Presence”, “International Ecommerce” and “International path”.
AOIFES has become the winner of “Initiation to Export”, choosen by the main jury of the awards after a previous process made by provintial juries.

To do this, Greencities has a national and a regional working committee that allows adding new content adapted to current market demands.
